Dr. Rishi took the decision when he sensed that there was a need for more MDs in the district government hospital. He was working with a reputed private hospital in Kerala’s Kochi and when he got the information about the issue in Hoshangabad in MP. He will look after the covid patients in the Hoshangabad district government hospital daily for two hours for free followed by treating patients in other places in the district.
Ever since the second wave of COVID-19 erupted in different Indian cities, Dr. Rishi was constantly monitoring the severity in North India. The rising number of Covid cases was a matter of great concern for him.
Speaking on his decision, Dr. Rishi George said, “A private hospital can easily hire an MD, but it’s a tedious process for the government to hire one in a short time duration; that’s too at the time of a pandemic.”
Eminent people from and around the city, including political leaders, are pouring in appreciation for Dr. Rishi’s noble gesture. Along with this, Dr. Rishi is motivating his other colleagues to stand in solidarity with the patients at this difficult time, and asking them to devote their time to the underprivileged patients.
“I am looking after the ICU and will stay here till the things are under control. It gives me a sense of being purposefully in life as well,” added Dr. Rishi.
